Brighten Up Your Last Weeks of Winter!

Brighten Up Your Last Weeks of Winter!

We've almost made it through a long and cold winter so let's celebrate together!   We can talk about our favorite coping strategies and how we’ve conquered the cold and dark!  We'd love to hear your ideas for great mood and energy boosters.

Nathalie Henaine of the Counseling Center will speak briefly about a topic that she specializes in: Seasonal Affective Disorder.  We'll learn some coping strategies for the low energy and blues that sometimes come with winter, and about the benefits and proper ways of using a SAD lamp.  She will describe a very cool program at St. Thomas where we can ask about borrowing SAD lamps at no cost from the Counseling Center!

Library staff have found humorous slides and readings to share with you, there will be snacks and warm drinks, a virtual crackling fire to warm us up, and we'll help each other get through the coming weeks with perhaps some renewed perseverance and hope!

Be sure to enter the drawing for a mini SAD Lamp and some fairy lights to help lift spirits as we look forward to spring.

Come early if you wish - warm drinks and snacks will be ready at 3:15 pm.   We'll look for you in the O'Shaughnessy Room.
