"Proud to Be First" Book Display in Library Rotunda
Be sure to visit the display in the rotunda all this week featuring books written by or about first-generation students!
Proud to Be First (PTBF) is a voluntary, free program for students who identify as first-generation students. St Thomas defines first-generation as a student whose parents/guardians did not receive a 4-year degree in the United States. We host monthly workshops around topics especially pertinent to first-year first-gen students (eg. Navigating the Hidden Curriculum, Mental Health in College) and at least once a semester celebrations for all first-gen students.
You are invited to a special November 8th celebration, a national Day of Celebration for First-Generation students! We hope you will visit us on November 8th from 3-4:30 in Create[Space].
